Family Time - an (un)traditional Thanksgiving meal

As some of you may know,
for the last few weeks we worked arranging a Thanksgiving meal for tomorrow evening at the Safe Home for teenagers in Budrio.

Yet on Wednesday they cancelled the event as for various reasons most of the kids would not be able to participate!

We know the Lord is in control, and we also know that these things happen when serving "difficult" kids and social services.
So we thought to have instead an (un)traditional Thanksgiving meal @ our home for our church-family and friends.

We've invited some friends we are connecting with at the moment. A couple we got to know at the Food Bank Collection said they're happy to come.
It'll be the first time we'll be able to connect them with the church-family. So pray for them and for all the practical organisations!!!

The Christian life is to be lived in the context of community on display to the world. This course will help us learn what Christian community should look like and how it is rooted in the gospel. Through the course we’ll be challenged to think about our own role in the church and be helped to build community on mission around the gospel.

As church-plant we're very excited for the men from Budrio who are taking the course.
Pray with us for their commitment and passion for the Lord!

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church - Joint service & prayer meeting

Tomorrow is the IDOP (International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church) also known in some countries as Suffering Sunday.
Today’s greatest untold story is that more than 100 million Christians worldwide face persecution for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Daily Christians in countries such as Eritrea, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Sudan and Sri Lanka
face imprisonment, violence and even death.
IDOP is a time set apart for us to remember thousands of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who suffer persecution, simply because they confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

As churches in Bologna we decided to have a joint Sunday Service and an afternoon prayer meeting.

In the morning John Paul Aranzulla, pastor of Forte Torre Church, will preach from Psalm 129.

In the afternoon we'll have a focused prayer & intercessory meeting where every church will present a country target.
We'll have presentations with specific prayer points for Syria, Iraq, Pakistan & Libya and we'll intercede in small prayer groups.
In our prayer we'll intercede both for our persecuted fellows-Christians and for the salvation of their persecutors!
