Sunday Service: Exodus 20:18-26

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room in
Le Torri dell'Acqua, the theatre&modern art-gallery right at the centre of Budrio, well known as a cultural meeting point.
At 10.00 we'll start our service with our series on The Book of Exodus.
With Justin we'll engage with
Exodus 20:18-26 - The fear of God creates a life of trust in Him.
Together we'll see see the beauty of Jesus: "since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."  Hebrews 10:19-22

Nino & Tiziana will lead our children's programme
based on The Gospel Project for kids,
in which week by week kids engage with the same
Bible passage and families will have activities
to keep interacting with God's Word during the week.

Christmas & Boxing Day Outreach 2019

Today we completed our Christmas & Boxing Day outreach in Budrio.

We've been at the Elderly Citizens Center where Jenny shared the history of Boxing Day and the beautiful biblical value of gratitude and to value those who work for the good of the community.

With Santa we sang some carols and
we made small chocolate boxes, to say
THANK YOU!

Stefano gave a Talk from John 3:16 pointing out to God's greatest gift in Jesus!

We had a special Cracking Christmas Party for our MySpace after-school club for teenagers and we were encouraged that some of the parents came along too!
We played lots of fun & interactive games like: Mr Bean Crackers, Christmas Crackers, Snowball & Spoon Relay Race, Christmas Task List, On the Edge, The Right Left Nativity & Boxing Day Thank You!

Stefano gave a Talk point out that Jesus is more than "the reason for the season", because the season belongs to Jesus,
but the reason is us!

On Sunday the 22nd we organized a special Christmas Family Service and we were so encouraged that 3 families from the MySpace teenagers work came along!
Franco, one of our church-members, dressed up as Santa explaining kids how the tradition of giving gifts is a reminder of
The Gift that God had wrapped in His Son delivered for us to deliver us from our sin!
Stefano preached from Acts 20:32-35 and John 3:16-21, pointing out how living the Gospel, means to experience the counter-cultural joy of giving, yet only God is the perfect giver who give us himself in Jesus: the real gift of Christmas!

On Christmas & Boxing Day, as a church family we shared the beautiful biblical value of gratitude and to value those who work for the good of the community, giving a simple box of chocolates to the volunteers of the Civil Protection, to the Firemen, to the Armed Forces, to the Emergency Department, to the City Police, to thank them for their service throughout the year for our community and for working during the Christmas holidays! What a beautiful way to translate the true meaning of Christmas into practice, with the gift that God made of his Son, who became man to give himself on the cross, giving us peace with God and the new life of His resurrection!

Here is a video summary of this outreach!

Christmas Outreach - A Box to say Thank You

In the mornings of the 25th and the 26th of December, we'll be in various places in Budrio for our Christmas Outreach focused on a Boxing Day theme.

As a church family we want to share the beautiful biblical value of gratitude and to value those who work for the good of the community, giving a simple box of chocolates to the volunteers of the Civil Protection, to the Firemen, to the Armed Forces, to the Emergency Deparment, to the Municipal Police, to thank them for their service throughout the year for our community and for working on Christmas day!

What a beautiful way to translate the true meaning of Christmas into practice, with the gift that God made of his Son, who became man to give himself on the cross, giving us peace with God and the new life of His resurrection!

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Theology for Breakfast with Porterbrook!

Tomorrow we'll continue
our series of meetings:
Theology for Breakfast!

Following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll meet from 9 to 11am @ Central Café
in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a breakfast with capuccino & croissant or
bread + butter + jam, we'll engage with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!

We'll interact with the Porterbrook module:
Gospel Change. With Stefano we'll engage with Unit 2. Gospel change and repentance.
The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the likeness of Christ (Romans 8:29). Together we'll learn how to apply the Gospel to our everyday life. We'll find out how change takes place as God’s truth is applied to the heart, and also how to effectively minster the Gospel to those around us.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll continue
our My Space Club 4 Teens

We organize this club for local kids,
in partnership with Budrio Town Hall
as part of their after-school programme.

In this way we have a fantastic room
with a courtyard in Budrio Library
and the social workers are sending
some of the kids they follow.
As part of our club, we also offer help
with their English home-works.

Together we'll engage with the YfC Rock Solid material,
interacting with the theme:
A Cracking Christmas!!!

We'll play lots of fun games like:
A Cracking Christmas, Mr Bean Crackers, Christmas Crackers, Snowball & Spoon Relay Race, Christmas Task List,
On the Edge, The Right Left Nativity,
The Reason for the Season,
Boxing Day Thank You, which will serve
as illustrations to Stefano's Talk from
John 3:16 where we'll see that
Jesus is not reason for the season,
the season belongs to Jesus
but the reason is us!
