Deputation 2019 - Westgate Chapel Bury St Edmunds

Tomorrow Stefano will be with our friends from Westgate Chapel in Bury St Edmunds.

During the morning service, Stefano will share about the Lord's work in Budrio and then will preach from Genesis 2:1-3 - And God rested!

It will be great to stay for their fellowship lunch to keep renewing old friendships and to make new ones!

At the pace and running with the 6th

 

Tomorrow afternoon as a church family we will participate in the event "At the pace and running with the 6th" organized by the Army Barracks "A. Ciarpaglini”, 

home of the 6th General Support Logistic Regiment of Budrio, with the aim of strengthening the relationship between the community of Budrio and the men and women of the Italian Army.

 

 

Over the years as a church we have collaborated several times with the Ciarpaglini Army Barrack of Budrio during the various Food Bank Collections organized by the Town Hall, and last year we visited them to thank them for their service in the community, on the occasion of our  

Boxing Day Project for December 26 .

This will be another great opportunity to live the Gospel in our community and to get to know better the numerous soldiers who live with their families in Budrio, so to support Nino's family who is member of our church!

Sunday Service: Exodus 17:1-7

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.

 

We'll meet at Budrio Library.

 

At 10.00 we'll start our service with our series on The Book of Exodus.
With Stefano we'll engage with  
Exodus 17:1-7 - "Is the LORD among us or not?"
Together we'll see see the beauty of Christ,
the Rock of our Salvation, the source of the living water: "For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ." 1 Corinthians 10:1-4

Marco & Jenny will lead our children's programme
based on The Gospel Project for kids,
in which week by week kids engage with the same
Bible passage and families will have activities
to keep interacting with God's Word during the week.

Stefano will lead the Lord's Supper with a reading from Hebrews 10:19-25, remembering how the bread and the wine are symbols of Jesus' body and blood, who on the cross purified us adopting us in the family of His church.

We'll then have a bring and share fellowship lunch, to remember the generosity and provision of the Lord!

Family Prayer Time

Tomorrow evening we'll meet for our 
Family Prayer Time.

Stefano will lead this time in which we'll engage with the need of Saturate with Scriptures our Prayers.

We'll have a time dedicated to thank God for how He's building our church family, opening doors for us in the community, and for His work on a global level!

Together we'll see see the beauty of Christ,
who proclaims to the world: "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5

Ferragosto as Gospel Opportunity

Tomorrow we'll have a traditional Ferragosto evening, which is an Italian Harvest Festival.
The Feriae Augusti (Augustus' Holidays),
introduced by Emperor Augustus in 18 BC,
were a public holiday to celebrate the harvest and the end of a period of intense agricultural work.

Nowadays is traditional to have a BBQ,
so we decided to invite @ our home
some new friends alongside our church family.

We want to celebrate Ferragosto as a Gospel opportunity, rejoicing in the way God makes the Gospel seed to sprout in the hearts of men, knowing that in our Gospel labour, 
we can rest in the certainty of His Harvest!

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Budrio Preaching Class

Tomorrow morning we'll have our Preaching Class meeting.
We're very excited about this opportunity to invest in the
lives of Nino & Giovanni 
to equip them to preach
God's Word in our church!

Together we'll engage with  
John 14:1-17 because Giovanni will preach from it
in August!






In this sessions we'll also interact with Stuart Olyott's book Preaching pure and simple.

Tomorrow we'll continue to engage with the first chapter:
What is Preaching?

In his book, Olyott insists that a sermon should be rooted in accurate exegesis, characterized by doctrinal substance, Christ–centredness and supernatural authority, as well as being clear, direct, vivid, helpful and moving.

Family Time on Matteo's Balcony

Tomorrow evening we'll have
a Family Time on Matteo's Balcony,
enjoying fresher temperature and a
beautiful view of Budrio's rooftops!

Together little ones and grown ups,
we'll play some Summer Games like
Ice Cubes, Summer Charade, Favourite Summer moments in a hat, Imagine I'm...

Then Stefano will give a Talk from
Mark 13:2-36 - Let's learn the Fig Three lesson for this Summer!

Open Air Movies Festival @ Budrio Square

Tomorrow evening our church family, will join Budrio community for the Open Air Movies Festival Cinema Arena @ Budrio Square. This is a great opportunity to meet people and to enjoy together a beautiful summer evening!

This month we'll watch the 2016 animated movie: The Red Turtle. The Red Turtle is an animated fantasy for families film co-written and directed by Dutch animator Michaël Dudok de Wit. The film is a co-production between Wild Bunch and Studio Ghibli, and tells the story of a man who becomes shipwrecked on a deserted island and meets a giant red turtle.
