MySpace Club 4 Teens - GoodNews5: Fake News? The untold story of the most reluctant convert!

 

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have
our My Space Club 4 Teens
for this school year.

We organize this club for local kids,
in partnership with Budrio Town Hall
as part of their after-school programme.

In this way, following every Covid-restrictions, we've been given a room in Budrio's Library and social workers are sending some of the kids they follow. 

As part of our club, we also offer help
with their English home-works.

 

 

 

Together we'll engage with the YfC Rock Solid material, interacting with the theme: GoodNews5: Fake News? The untold story of the most reluctant convert!

We'll play lots of fun games like: Gospel = Good News, Newspaper Hokey, Guess who's Fake, Real Vs Fake, Questioning, Newspaper Airplanes, What if it's true?, Social Distancing Games, which will serve as illustrations to Stefano's Talk where we'll engage with Jesus' I Am Sayings in John's Gospel and C.S. Lewis argument in Mere Christianity: "You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

Sunday Service: Visiting Preacher - Daniele Rebecchi

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.  

 

 

 

 

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room at the theatre Le Torri dell'Acqua, well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Daniele Rebecchi, pastor of Amazing Grace Church in Modena will preach on "Strengthening the heart in the Lord" - Haggai 2: 1-9. Together we'll see the beauty of Christ, who tells us to be strong, for He's with us: "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage. 

During the service, we'll celebrate the Lord's Supper, proclaiming the victory of our Redeemer over sin and death!

We'll play lots of fun games like: Gospel = Good News, Guy Fawkes Night, Guido/Guy/Guys, Bonfire Night Word Mat, This is Britain Bonfire Night, Brand New Game, Why do we need Laws? Disobey/Obey?/Obeyed, Bonfire Sticks, Important to me, Marshmallows, Social Distancing Games, which will serve as illustrations to Stefano's Talk from Romans 7:7-25, where we'll see that where Guy tells us to Disobey, Paul says he tried to Obey, but realized: "I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing" Romans 7:19, Jesus on the cross, Obeyed and fulfilled the Good Law of God for us, making us free!

AppMatthew - Mid-Week Bible Study

This evening we'll have our AppMatthew (Applying Matthew's Gospel), our series of Mid-Week Bible Studies in which we'll keep interacting with what we're learning through the preaching in our Sunday services. 

We'll meet in person at Café Filopanti, in the main square of Budrio. Stefano will lead this time where as church-family we'll engage with Matthew 13:54-14:36.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and David Pinckney, Acts29 rural strategist and member of the Small Town Summits team at TGC, will preach from Ephesians 1:3-14 - "How Jesus sees His church in Budrio?" 

Together we'll see the beauty of Christ, and how this gospel doctrine creates gospel culture! Upwards we worship in wonder and gratitude for all Christ has obtained for us. Outwardly we extend the glorious message of all that we have in Christ. Inwardly we treasure each one as treasured by Christ.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places." Ephesians 1:3

 

In the afternoon we'll have a seminar on the work of Acts29 in rural communities around the world.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written,"The righteous shall live by faith." ". Romans 1:16-17

Together we'll see the beauty of Christ, who re-enacts God's provision of manna in the desert, who teaches us God's provision of sacrifice in the Lord's Supper, and who anticipates the messianic banquet: "And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God." Revelation 19:9

Food Bank Collection in Budrio

Tomorrow afternoon, we'll join our community at the 7th Food Bank Collection promoted by Budrio's Town Hall and the network of local associations to which we belong.

As a church family we've been involved in this great opportunity to serve our community from it's first edition! All the goods and food collected will be distributed to the needy in our town.

This year we'll serve alongside the Civil Protection Department of Budrio, whose volunteers have worked a great deal in this time of Covid.

Join us in praying for good Gospel opportunities and conversations both with shoppers and the other volunteers!

We'll play lots of fun games like: Paper Bowling, GoodNews/BadNews, Your Source of News, BadNews into GoodNews, The Chosen: Trouble, Hearing More, Newspaper Scavenger Hunt, Positive Anchors, Gospel = Good News, Social Distancing Games, which will serve as illustrations to Stefano's Talk from John 4:1-30, where we'll see how Jesus is the "Troublemaker" who turns bad news into Good News, who promises: "whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life". John 4:14

SEEKERS Club14-19: seek, and you will find!

 

Tomorrow afternoon we'll restart our Seekers Club for 14/19 years old students, organized by Youth for Christ Italy 

with La Piazza Church,  

Forte Torre Church,  

Nuova Speranza Church 

and San Lazzaro Church.

 

 

 

Tomorrow, we'll meet at a Park in San Lazzaro and with Yan, we'll engage with Matthew 1:1,18-24 with Jesus' identity and "names": "you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins... and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us)." Matthew 1:21, 23

This year we'll engage with the Gospel according to Matthew. We'll be exposed to the person of Jesus, discovering who's the King and where's His Kingdom, in the certainty that, as Jesus promised: Seek, and you will find!

SUNDAY SERVICE: Matthew 13:54-14:12 - God's Prophet brings the Kingdom Message to the unbelievers!

We'll play lots of fun games like: Hero Gaming, Focus on Avengers, You are My Superhero, What makes a Hero, And this is how I saved the World..., Save the Day, Be a Hero, Social Distancing Games, which will serve as illustrations to Stefano's Talk from Hebrews 1:1-3, where we'll see how every superhero movie points to our deep need of a Redeemer, and so to Jesus who: "is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high". Hebrews 1:3

AppMatthew - Mid-Week Bible Study

Tomorrow evening we'll have our AppMatthew (Applying Matthew's Gospel), our series of Mid-Week Bible Studies in which we'll keep interacting with what we're learning through the preaching in our Sunday services.

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
