Theology for Breakfast with Crosslands

In this moment, because of the restrictions for public meetings due to the coronavirus, we'll meet online through the video conferencing app ZOOM.

We'll interact with the Crosslands module:
Gospel Change. With Stefano we'll engage with Unit 5. The means of grace - the bible, prayer and community.
The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the likeness of Christ (Romans 8:29). Together we'll learn how to apply the Gospel to our everyday life. We'll find out how change takes place as God’s truth is applied to the heart, and also how to effectively minster the Gospel to those around us.

Usually, following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll have met @ Central Café in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a breakfast with capuccino & croissant or
bread + butter + jam, we'll have engaged with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!
In this moment so difficult for our local economy, we've decided to order from these cafés our breakfasts delivered at home!

This is a simple and practical way to keep blessing our beautiful community in Budrio!

MySpace Club 4 Teens - FAQs: Why Isn't God Obvious?

Tomorrow afternoon we'll continue
our My Space Club 4 Teens
for this school-year.
We organize this club for local kids,
in partnership with Budrio Town Hall
as part of their after-school programme.

In this way we have a fantastic room
with a courtyard in Budrio Library
and the social workers are sending
some of the kids they follow.
As part of our club, we also offer help
with their English home-works.

Together we'll engage with the YfC Rock Solid material,
interacting with the theme:
FAQs: Why Isn't God Obvious?
We'll play lots of fun games like: Obvious Observations, Hidden?, Obviously Convinced, Prove It, Sciencey Bit, Mirror Pictionary, Linked, Where's He At?, Search & Find, Getting To Know Him, which will serve as illustrations to Justin's Talk where we'll see that God is never far or incognizable, actually it's the opposite since in Jesus he can down to us to make himself knowable!

Uncover John 4 older teens - Do you come here often?

Tomorrow afternoon we'll restart with Uncover Club, a programme 4 older teens in partnership with YfC Italia and two other churches in the Bologna area,
to engage with John's Gospel!

Uncover - See for Yourself!, is an interactive Bible Study for Young Adults created by UCCF to engage with John's Gospel. Jesus asks a lot of questions. He provokes questions in others.
Will he help us to make sense of some of life’s big questions as we see for ourselves?

With Stefano, we'll engage with John 4:4-29, 39-42 and we'll see how Jesus smashes through the social conventions of the day and the scandal surrounding one woman’s life and makes her the most astonishing offer.

Jesus locates our emptiness or ‘thirst’ in our alienation from God. He promises to bring us into an intimate relationship with God as Father, which will completely satisfy our thirst.

Christianity Explored - The World We All Want!

Tomorrow evening we'll continue our
Christianity Explored Bible Study,
for every age-group!

We have now a regular group of students,
so after having completed our studies on
the Gospel of Mark and Luke,
we engage with The World We All Want course to discover together the big message of the whole Bible.

We run these public meetings @
the newly open pub in Budrio!
The World We All Want presents the gospel through the Bible story. It presents the biblical world-view that people need if they are to understand the work of Christ.
Often presentations of the gospel are individualistic, focusing on an individual's relationship with God. It then becomes difficult to teach people about the church except in functional terms or terms than contradict the message of grace. The focus of the Bible, however, is on God's plan to create a people who are his people.

Tomorrow with Stefano
we'll continue with Session Five:
we cannot create God's new world - Nehemiah 9

The course begins by engaging with people's desire for a better world, showing how God promises such a world in the Bible and how Jesus gave us a glimpse of that world. This provides a natural point of contact with people; a common aspiration.
It establishes at the beginning of the course a reason why the Bible story is so important. As the course develops, however,
it makes it clear that this world cannot be human-centred,
it must be God-centred.

Exodus 24 - God's redemption is sealed and celebrated in Christ.
Together we'll see see the beauty of Jesus, our great priest, who invites us to draw near God: "with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful."  Hebrews 10:22-23
