Tomorrow we'll have a special outreach service for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio. We'll celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Newton, the former slave trader converted to Christ and author of the hymn 'Amazing Grace', whose political action guided William Wilberforce leading to the abolition of the slave trade in 1807 and finally, slavery itself throughout the British Empire in 1833.
For this we will have a special performance by the Vincenzo Grimaldi Ocarina School, featuring the ocarina players of the Ocarina Ensemble Budrio who will perform Amazing Grace.
Then the Chairs of the Christian Charity Transformed Lives in Bologna, will explain how human trafficking is a true modern slavery that robs people of their freedom and dignity!
John Goodwin, UFM missionary in Siena, will be preaching on the Gospel of Christ's Grace from 1Corinthians 15:1-11.
During the service we'll have a children's club where kids will engage with the same topic.
