Summer series: A meal with Jesus - Enacted Salvation: Luke 22

Tomorrow we'll continue our summer series where, as church family, we'll interact with Tim Chester's book A meal with Jesus.

With Nino we'll engage with chapter 5:
Meals as Enacted Salvation: Luke 22

Meals have always been important across societies and cultures. Meals are also deeply theological - an important part of Christian fellowship and mission.

Luke's Gospel is full of stories of Jesus at meals. And these meals enact grace, community, hope, mission, salvation and promise.

BBQ as Gospel opportunity

Tomorrow we'll have a traditional Ferragosto evening, which is an
Italian Harvest Festival.
The Feriae Augusti (Augustus' Festivals), introduced by Emperor Augustus in 18 BC,  celebrate the harvest and the end of a long period of intense agricultural work.

Nowadays is traditional to have a BBQ,
so we decided to invite @ our home some new friends alongside church family.

Two families we got to know during the Exch@nge Camp are coming! We'll be 23 adults & 4 kids, which means that we'll have 15 non-Christians with us!!! Pray for this Gospel opportunity for our church members to naturally share their faith with these friends!

Celebrating with our Community: fish&chips + bike ride with the stars

Tomorrow evening we'll join our community in Budrio for a fish&chips meal in the square.
There will be tables all around the main square in Budrio and under the arcades where people will sit together enjoying food and music.

On Friday evening we'll join the traditional bike ride by night to see the falling stars in the countryside and enjoying fresh watermelons!

These are great opportunities to get to know people from our community, sharing food with them and celebrating the good gifts of the Lord and God's marvellous creation: "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." Psalm 19:1

Missionary Evening with Giuseppe & Sun-min

Tomorrow evening we'll have our mid-week prayer
and missionary meeting.

We'll have a FaceTime
in New Zealand
with Giuseppe & Sun-min!

Giuseppe did an internship programme last year with us
in Budrio after his missional experience in Senegal with
WEC Italy.

At the moment Giuseppe has completed a theological and missional training at the EastWest Bible College in New Zealand which specifically prepares Christian workers for cross-cultural service.
