EMF Conference 2020 - The Message & the medium!

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have the privilege to speak at the EMF Conference 2020.

Alongside John Stevens, FIEC National Director, Andrew RoycroftPastor of Millisle Baptist Church and Blogger, Vitalii Mariash, Academic Dean of Kyiv Theological Seminary, we'll engage with the theme: The Message and the medium.

We'll focus on our rural church-planting experience of Sharing the Gospel in an online world!

The dramatic worldwide move towards online media continues to develop, and the Covid-19 lock-down has made evangelical churches everywhere have to face the challenges as well as the opportunities of the online world. The implications for society in general, and for the church in particular, have been both wide-ranging and surprising.

  • So, how should evangelical churches approach this and how might this affect mission in Europe?
  • Does this present new opportunities to be embraced or a subtle distraction which risks diluting our focus?
  • Are there gifts and skills that should be developed in the churches?
  • And how might this affect the challenges of Bible training, especially in countries where there are few reformed seminaries and a shortage of sound Christian literature?

Theology for Breakfast with Crosslands

Tomorrow we'll continue our series of meetings: Theology for Breakfast!
Due to the new COVID restrictions for public meetings, we'll meet online through the video conferencing app ZOOM.
We'll interact with Crosslands module: Gospel Change. With Stefano we'll conclude Unit 8. Holiness - conversations.

The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the likeness of Christ (Romans 8:29). Together we'll learn how to apply the Gospel to our everyday life. We'll find out how change takes place as God’s truth is applied to the heart, and also how to effectively minster the Gospel to those around us.

Usually, following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll have met @ Central Café in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a traditional breakfast with capuccino & croissant, we'll have engaged with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!
In this moment to support our local economy, we've decided to order from local cafés our breakfasts delivered at home! This is a simple and practical way to keep blessing our beautiful community in Budrio!
