Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 1Timothy 6:3-5

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Matteo we'll engage with 1 Timothy 6:3-5 - The plague of the false gospel and the cure of the True Gospel! 

The essential signs of the True Gospel of Christ, and of true disciples and teachers of the Gospel of Christ, is that it comes from Christ and promotes Christ's piety! It is impossible to separate the Gospel from living the Gospel, which drives the mission of Christ on the part of the whole church of Christ! "But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." Galatians 6:14

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Mezzolara Home Group & Missionary Prayer Meeting

Tomorrow evening we'll have our Mezzolara Home Group where we'll enjoy a bring and share meal and we'll have a family prayer time involving little ones and grown ups.

This month we'll have with us Andrew and Vivienne Birch, Andrew is the Director of the European Mission Fellowship. 

 

Andrew and Vivienne will share about the EMF's work in Europe and especially about it's ministry in Ukraine, towards which as a church family we made a special fundrasing last Christmas.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Andrew Birch, EMF director of the European Mission Fellowship, will preach on "Why we should love the gospel" from Romans 1:15-17. 

Do we love the good news, the great news, the best news of all: that, thanks to the Lord Jesus, there is hope for us; that, thanks to the Lord Jesus, we can be saved – at peace with God, in a loving relationship with him now and for ever?

During the service we'll celebrate the Lord's Supper reflecting on Paul's words in Romans 1:1-7.

 

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Budrio Home Group & Missionary Prayer Meeting

Tomorrow evening we'll have our Budrio Home Group where we'll enjoy a bring and share meal and we'll have a family prayer time involving little ones and grown ups.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 1 Timothy 6:1-2 - Pastoral care: honour God's name in honouring others! 

If we are in Christ, then our life belongs to God, who purchased it on the cross of Christ! If we are in Christ, then we desire to honour the name of God and the Gospel of Christ by honouring and loving our neighbour, following the missional example of the Christ who served with love as a slave: "...whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" Mark 10:43-45

App1Timothy - Mid-Week Bible Study

 

Tomorrow evening we'll have our App1Timothy (Applying the 1st Pastoral Letter of Paul to Timothy), our series of Mid-Week Bible Studies in which we'll keep interacting with what we're learning through the preaching in our Sunday services.  

 

We'll meet at the Bookshop-Café La Terza Stanza, in Budrio. Stefano will lead this time where we'll engage with 1 Timothy 5:21-6:2.

Joint Baptismal Service

Tomorrow we'll meet at 10.00 a.m. at Budrio's swimmng pool, for a baptismal service organised together with the Evangelical Church of San Lazzaro di Savena.

It will be a joy to celebrate with baptism the new birth of dear Elisabetta, Giovanni and Sara from our church family, and of Daniele and Sonia from the church of San Lazzaro.

During the service Stefano will preach from 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27. 

We are thankful to the Lord for this day of joy and witness to the many friends and family members of the baptised, in obedience to the ordinance of the risen Christ to his church: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Mattehew 28:18-20
 

Church Family Prayer Walk in Budrio

Tomorrow evening, as church family, we'll have a Prayer Walk around Budrio.

In Filopanti Square, we'll intercede for the Mayoress and our local government - 1 Timothy 2:1-2

We'll move to Matteotti Square, where we'll intercede first for the social workers and their work for the community - Romans 13:1.

Then we'll pray for the Terza Stanza bookshop and the Magnolia social center where we hold our Bible studies and Sunday services - Jeremiah 29:7.

Finally, we'll stop at Budrio Swimming pool, where on Sunday we'll celebrate 5 baptisms with San Lazzaro church! Matthew 28:18-20

Paul, in showing us the beauty of Christ's church family, where we are called to care for one another in the gospel, including the men who care for us by leading us to grow in the gospel - shows us the beauty of Christ who transforms us to live the gospel in our small and big choices: "In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality." 1 Timothy 5:21
