New Year's Eve Family Service - Philippians 3:10-14

Tomorrow we'll have our New Year's Eve Family Service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 07.00 p.m. we'll start our service and Stefano will preach from Philippians 3:10-14 - Let’s press on toward the goal in Christ!
At the end of this 2023, and preparing us for the arrival of 2024, Paul takes us on the track of the race of life, sharing with us two Gospel imperatives, which will be our two Gospel pursuits for 2024: Let's press on to know Christ, and Let's press on toward the goal in Christ!
"...Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

A New Year's Eve Family Dinner will follow at 8.30 p.m. where we will celebrate the Lord's Supper together and have a time of prayer in preparation for the New Year.

At 23:30 we will move to Piazza Filopanti to celebrate the arrival of 2024 together with our community at midnight!

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Nino will preach from Luke 2:10-11 - The great Story!
Let us rediscover and relive the great Story of the Saviour-King, told through the centuries and seen through the eyes of humble shepherds!
"And the angel said to them, «Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.»." Luke 2:10-11

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Boxing Day Project - A Box to say Thank You!

A few years ago we've read this article from answersingenesis.org explaining the tradition and meaning of Boxing Day!

History of Boxing Day
The most likely story dates back hundreds of years to Britain. When on December 26 wealthy families would give their servants and tradespeople a gratuity of either money or a "Christmas box" full of food and gifts to thank them for their service and for working all day Christmas Day. Historically, Boxing Day was about recognizing those who serve and thanking them for their service. Holidays, such as Boxing Day, can be used for the glory of God. Even if Boxing Day isn’t a traditional holiday where you come from, perhaps consider incorporating the idea of thanking those who serve into your Christmastime celebrations. In doing so you will show others the love of Christ and open up doors to share the real meaning of the season—Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever given to this world.

As a church family, we desire to embrace the biblical value of gratitude and honouring those who work for the good of the community, which lies behind the British holiday of Boxing Day. So, from 23 to 26 December, little ones and grown-ups together, we'll donate a box of chocolates and a Christmas card to the Municipal Administration, the Social Services, the Civil Defence, the Fire Brigade, the Police, the Carabinieri, the Armed Forces, the doctors, nurses and all the staff of Budrio Hospital, and to all those who, with commitment and passion, dedicate themselves to the good of our community, to share with them the joy of God's gift in Christ!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

What a beautiful way to translate the true meaning of Christmas into practice, with the gift that God made of his Son, who became man to give himself on the cross, giving us peace with God and the new life of His resurrection!

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 2Timothy 2:8-13

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 2 Timothy 2:8-13 - Remember Jesus Christ for the Word of God is not bound!
Paul tells us: Remember Jesus Christ, for the Word of God is not bound! Because the Resurrection and the Incarnation, Easter and Christmas, are not two events to be remembered once a year, but they are the Gospel to be lived, which by grace transforms our lives, grounds our obedience, guides our sanctification, motivates our mission!
"...Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." Revelation 1:5-6

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 2Timothy 2:1-7

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 2 Timothy 2:1-7 - Entrust the Gospel to faithful men who are resilient, disciplined and persevering in Christ!
The Gospel urgency and priority is the faithful guarding of Jesus' Gospel, which consists in faithfully passing the Gospel torch from one generation to the next!
In this, Paul shows us in no uncertain terms, the suffering, discipline and toil of the growth of every man and woman in Christ, amidst the beauty and richness of the body of Christ's Church!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith..." Hebrews 12:1-2

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Visiting Preacher - Fabiano Nicodemo

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Fabiano Nicodemo, Pastor of the Chrsit Alone churches in Rimini and Cesena, will preach on "A wide door for effective Gospel work " from 1 Corinthians 16:5-9

The Holy Spirit guides Paul to see the "wide door", the Gospel opportunity that God opens for the effective work of Christ, and equips him to persevere in the midst of persecution! So today He invites the church to be ready to enter confidently through the Gospel doors that God opens in the midst of opposition!

During the service we'll celebrate the Lord's Supper and we'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Matteo we'll engage with 2 Timothy 1:13-18 - Guard the Good Deposit!
To guard the Good Deposit of the Gospel is both to defend it and to share it, and we must not think that we have to do this in our own strength, but only by the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, because, as John Stott wrote: "in entrusting the deposit to our hands, God has not taken his own hands off it. He is himself its final guardian, and he will preserve the truth which he has committed to the church"!

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

2023 EMF Regional Conference: Bridging the Gap

Tomorrow Stefano will join the 2023 EMF Regional Conference, at WelwynEvangelical Church, UK.

The theme of the conference is Bridging the Gap: Connecting with people for the Gospel. The aim is to address the need to connect with our communities, in order to be able to share the Gospel with them – something that many Christians (and churches) find increasingly difficult, especially as the society in which we live gets farther and farther away from any kind of Christian influence. How can we connect with non-Christians without compromising our commitment to faithful Christian discipleship?

There’ll be a video input from Glen Scrivener, director of the SpeakLife ministry, who will talk about the Challenge of Bridging the Gap.

Then José Moreno Berrocal will speak about connecting with people in Spain, and Stefano about connecting with people in Italy.

At the end there’ll be a panel discussion led by EMF’s Field DirectorAndrew Birch where we’ll engage with what can we learn from Jesus himself and what are the biblical principles which can guide our actions in connecting with people for the Gospel!

“We go to the little, the least, the last, and the lost.” Glen Scrivener
