Prayer & Envisioning Meeting

Tomorrow evening Stefano
will lead our mid-week
prayer & envisioning meeting.

Our desire is to build up our church to have a passion for our community with a global vision for the work of the Lord!

This month we'll pray specifically for the families of the many victims of the collapsed bridge in Genova on the 14th of August. Amongst the victims there was the sister of an evangelical pastor. Similarly, among those who had to leave their homes there is also at least one evangelical family.

For those who would like to give financial aid, we support the Italian Evangelical Alliance collection:

Alleanza Evangelica Italiana

IBAN: IT 64 N 07601 03200 000046728002

SWIFT CODE: BPPIITRRXXX

Cause: Pro vittime crollo ponte di Genova

We'll also pray for Giuseppe who we visited last week with Jenny.
Giuseppe did an internship two years ago with us in Budrio after his missional experience in Senegal with WEC Italy.
Giuseppe & his fiancé Sun-min have completed a theological and missional training at the EastWest Bible College in New Zealand, to be prepared to work with WEC in Germany amongst Iranian refugees.
At the moment Giuseppe is doing chemotherapy for a tumour. We were so encouraged by the way the Lord is working in Giuseppe through this and using him to reach out patients at the hospital!

Sunday Service: Christ in the faith of Samson - Hebrews 11:32

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room in
Le Torri dell'Acqua, the theatre&modern art-gallery right at the centre of Budrio, well known as a cultural meeting point.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing our series on Hebrews 11-12.
With Giovanni we'll engage
with Hebrews 11:32 -
Christ in the faith of Samson!

Together we’ll see that Samson was a strong man, but had a weak faith, yet God used him to begin to free his people from the hands of the enemy, Judges 13:5. Jesus instead by his death on the cross and his victory in the resurrection, has made us truly free forever, John 8:36!

to keep interacting with God's Word during the week.

Judges 13-16 to engage with the life of Samson in order to see how he points us to Christ!

Ferragosto as Gospel Opportunity

Tomorrow we'll have a traditional Ferragosto evening, which is an Italian Harvest Festival.
The Feriae Augusti (Augustus' Holidays), introduced by Emperor Augustus in 18 BC,
to celebrate the harvest and the end of a long period of intense agricultural work.

Nowadays is traditional to have a meal with friends, so we decided to invite @ our home for a pizza party, 5 friends we got to know in these years, alongside our church family!

We want to celebrate Ferragosto as a Gospel opportunity, rejoicing in the way God makes the Gospel seed to sprout in the hearts of men and resting in the certainty of His Harvest!

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Exch@nge Camp 2018 Video & Report

Yesterday we had a great day out in Florence with our friends from Bethel Church
in Houston, who have helped @ our
5th Exch@nge Camp for teens in Budrio!

We feel so blessed by this great Gospel partnership that joined our churches
in these 5 years of reaching out teens
and families in Budrio!

At the end of these challenging 10 days of ministry we are amazed be the many ways The Lord has answered our prayers!

We had 45 local kids from
11 to 17 years old and only
2 of them were coming from
Christian families!

Join us in praying that The Lord will apply to their hearts what they've heard in these days through the Talks from Ephesians, and the many conversations during the camp!

At the community dinner of Saturday evening we hosted more than 100 people and we had good Gospel Conversations with a few parents and the Cafè staff!

On Sunday more than 130 people attended the service and quite a few asked questions after Stefano's sermon!

We were very encouraged by 4 Christians from our church who took holidays in order to serve with us at the camp and the many great helpers we had from other churches!

Pray with us the Lord of the Harvest for the many seeds planted this week!

Have a taste of this incredible week by watching the Camp Video!

You can also watch a video interview with Rod Bohls, the team leader from Houston!

Exch@nge Camp - DAY7 - Sunday Service

This morning we had our Sunday Service

for the campers' families of the

2018 English Sport Camp Exch@nge Budrio.

We had the biggest turnout of kids and parents in the last 5 years, indeed there where more than 130 people, and it was great to see some of the older campers from previous years!

Stefano preached from Ephesians 2:1-8, challenging parents & kids to think about
the depths of our sin and so the amazing salvation that Jesus accomplished for us
at the Cross!

How great is to know that Jesus' salvation is
by grace alone!

We had the visit of the mayor of Budrio
who thanked us for our work & presence
in the community.

We also had a great time engaging with families and kids. Many of them very happy to receive a New Testament and to be informed about our Christianity Explored Course and kids programmes during the year!
