These local events are typical in Italian rural cultural contexts and represent a time for families and friends to join together at the end of the summer. So it's common to see young families with little ones enjoying food and music together, as well as fathers and their teenage kids cooking at the BBQ and serving together at the tables.
Tonight, Sunday and Monday as church family we'll participate in various ways at this event. Six of us will serve at the tables, while others will dine at the food stand.
This is one of the many ways we want to serve and celebrate with our community, to make new friendships and to consolidate others, to live and share the joy of the Gospel among people!
