Family Time Evening - Luther movie #31October1517-2017

Tomorrow evening we'll have a special family time mid-week meeting @ our home.
Together we'll watch the 2003 Luther movie. The 31 October 1517 Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses on the doors of Wittenberg cathedral, starting the Reformation.

Sunday Service: Soli Deo Gloria & Trip to Ferrara Castle

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.






We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room in
Le Torri dell'Acqua, the theatre&modern art-gallery right at the centre of Budrio, well known as a cultural meeting point.


At 10.30 we'll start our service with our
series on the 5 Solas of Reformation.
With Jörg Müller, director of the European School of BiblicalStudies, we'll engage with the 5th: Soli Deo Gloria.
We'll be exposed to the beauty of Jesus,
who has redeemed us in order to live for God's Glory in every sphere of our life!

Marco & Jenny will lead our children's programme,
in which kids will engage with the same theme
interacting with Jesus' resurrection from Matthew 27:11-66!





After we'll have a fellowship lunch together.

In the afternoon we'll have a trip to Ferrara, to visit the castle where in 1536 the young John Calvin, who had just published the 
first edition of his Institutes, hide from the Inquisition under the protection of the duchess Reneé of France.

Reformation 500 - Lesson in Budrio High School - Conference & Reformation Dinner

Tomorrow morning, Stefano & Justin will be back
@ Budrio High School.

We'll speak to a 3rd year class during their History & Philosophy lesson about the 500° anniversary of Reformation.

We'll start our presentation with some clips from the Luther movie.

Yet, our main goal is to engage students with the 5 Solas of Reformation to expose them to Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus alone!

In the afternoon we'll host a conference in Budrio's Bookshop.

The main speaker will be 
Jörg Müller, director of the European School of BiblicalStudies.

Jörg's family on the maternal side comes from the same village in Thuringia as Luther’s family: Möhra. Jörg planted and pastored a church in Wartburg where Luther was brought for hiding after the Diet of Worms and translated the NT into German. While hiding there, he called himself Knight Jörg.

Jörg will speak on Past Reformation, about what happened in Europe 500 years ago!

We'll have a special guest Tiziano Casella,

a very well-know story-teller from Budrio,

who will speak about Near Reformation.

  

Tiziano will read from the letters that 

John Calvin wrote to Reneé of France the duchess of Ferrara, near Budrio.

In 1536 the young Calvin, who had just published the first edition of his Institutes, 

hide from the inquisition in Ferrara's Castle!

Stefano will then conclude speaking about Present Reformation,

explaining how the motto of Semper Reformanda, challenges today's church and society. 

After the conference we'll have a Reformation Dinner hosted @ Le Torri Lounge, the café of the Theatre we use on Sundays.

We'll enjoy some German sausages & sauerkrauts challenging friends with Luther's Quiz.

The winners will receive 

Luther's action figure! 

Pray with us that all these moments will turn in good Gospel opportunities to share Jesus' hope! 

MySpace Club 4 Teens - React Now!

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have our
My Space Club 4 Teens
for this school-year.

We organize this club for local kids,
in partnership with Budrio Town Hall
as part of their after-school programme.

In this way we have a fantastic room with a courtyard in Budrio Library and the social workers are sending some of the kids they follow. As part of our club, we also offer help
with their English home-works.





 

Together we'll engage with the YfC Rock Solid material,
interacting with the theme: React Now!

We'll play lots of fun games like: 
React Now, Guess the Emoji,

Say Aww, How would you feel,

Good Catch/Catch it, Picture this,

Rewards, What triggers you,

Own it, Speed Connect,

Traffic lights & React slap the hand,  

which will serve as illustrations to Justin's Talk from Ephesians 4:26-27 where we'll see how Jesus is always in control, even when our emotions are full of up&downs!

Exch@nge 2017-2018 Feedback & Planning meeting

Tomorrow morning Stefano & Justin will meet @ 

Youth for Christ Italia office for a feedback time 

after the camps of last summer and to plan the 

2018 Exch@nge Camps.

There will be representatives from 4 churches 

from Bologna involved in the years in this outreach project for teenagers, 

the organisers of Exch@nge Florence and Naples, 

and a church interested to start an Exch@nge in Trieste.

We'll work together to choose a common theme for the camps, a series of Bible Talks and to organize the programs for the 6 camps we're planning to run, including the idea to launch Exch@nge Naples & Exch@nge Trieste!

Please pray for us that we'll be guided by God's vision & wisdom in this incredible Gospel opportunity!
