Teaching Biblical Anthropology @ Evangelical Bible Institute in Rome

From Monday until Friday, Stefano and Jenny will be teaching together a course on Biblical Anthropology at the Evangelical Bible Institute in Rome.

Join us in praying for the time we spend with the students (we have 21 hours together) that it may be helpful for them and for their future ministry.

There isn’t a lot of material in Italian so we will be going through a study guide we spent last August preparing for them.

These are the topics we’ll teach:

Biblical anthropology from a Christological perspective.

God’s original design.

The essential nature of man.

The corruption of God’s original design.

The First Adam and the Last Adam.

Overview of Biblical Anthropology in the Old Testament - OT Case Studies.

Overview of New Testament Biblical Anthropology - NT Case Studies.

Complementarian and Egalitarian positions

Hermeneutics and comparative exegetics of key texts.

Men and Women of God.

Sunday Service: Visiting Preacher - Gioele Corradini

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Gioele Corradini, from the Evangelical Church in San Lazzaro di Savena, will preach on "Portrait of a sympathiser" from Luke 23:1-25.

The "good sympathiser" would like a Jesus who is a guest, perhaps silent, but not the owner and Lord! But Jesus does not seek sympathisers, he wants disciples. Jesus does not just want to be the guest of your life, he wants to be its Lord! Whose side are you on? Will you choose to follow Jesus or to be in the company of Pilate and Herod?

During the service we'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Dinner & Prayer - Mezzolara Home Family Groups

Tomorrow evening and Monday evening we'll have our Home Family Groups in Molinella and Budrio.

We'll dine together sharing the many good foods brought by everyone and we'll celebrate the Lord's Supper, with a missionale family prayer time involving little ones and grown ups together.

We'll have a specific time of prayer for our friends from Bethel Church in Houston, that the Lord may help them in sharing the Gospel with those most in need after the violent storm hit Texas!

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 2:11-14

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 2:11-14 - What does it mean to live the Gospel between Grace and Glory?
As John Stott said - We need to say to ourselves regularly the great acclamation, ‘Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.’
So it's our life today, in the active sanctification at the school of Grace, which Paul describes in the active expectation of the blessed hope and the appearing of the Glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

AppTitus - Mid-Week Bible Study

Tomorrow evening we'll meet at the independent bookshop La Terza Stanza, in Budrio, for our interactive Bible study group AppTitus (Applying the Pastoral Epistle of Paul to Titus), the series of meetings in which we continue to discuss and apply to our lives what we are learning from the preaching in the Sunday services.
During this time we'll engage with Chapter 2:1-14 of Paul's Pastoral Epistle to Titus.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 2:9-10

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 2:9-10 - Are we Gospel missionaries in our places of study and work?
On the one hand, Paul shows us the beauty of the jewel of Jesus' Gospel, and on the other, he shows us how our Gospel living, how the consistency, the priority, the radicality of the Gospel in our everyday life, is the showcase in which God has chosen to lovingly display the jewel of Jesus' Gospel! Thus Jesus is both the agent and the model of our missional growth and service in our places of study and work!

"Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:43-45

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 2:1-8

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 2:1-8 - Women who are an example in imitating Christ!
The picture that Paul paints for us is that of a church that is united, where men and women, old and young, live their mission together, where each older woman doesn't miss an opportunity to be with a young woman, to listen and study God's Word together, to serve together, to grow together, and each younger woman doesn't miss an opportunity to follow the example of a mature woman, to see the grace of Christ in action in her life in the family, in the church and in the community!

"We were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us. For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers. For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers." 1Thessalonians 2:7-13

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.
