AppTitus - Mid-Week Bible Study

Tomorrow evening we'll meet at the independent bookshop La Terza Stanza, in Budrio, for our interactive Bible study group AppTitus (Applying the Pastoral Epistle of Paul to Titus), the series of meetings in which we continue to discuss and apply to our lives what we are learning from the preaching in the Sunday services.
During this time we'll engage with Chapter 2:1-14 of Paul's Pastoral Epistle to Titus.

Saturday 11 May 2024

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 2:9-10

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 2:9-10 - Are we Gospel missionaries in our places of study and work?
On the one hand, Paul shows us the beauty of the jewel of Jesus' Gospel, and on the other, he shows us how our Gospel living, how the consistency, the priority, the radicality of the Gospel in our everyday life, is the showcase in which God has chosen to lovingly display the jewel of Jesus' Gospel! Thus Jesus is both the agent and the model of our missional growth and service in our places of study and work!

"Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:43-45

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 2:1-8

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 2:1-8 - Women who are an example in imitating Christ!
The picture that Paul paints for us is that of a church that is united, where men and women, old and young, live their mission together, where each older woman doesn't miss an opportunity to be with a young woman, to listen and study God's Word together, to serve together, to grow together, and each younger woman doesn't miss an opportunity to follow the example of a mature woman, to see the grace of Christ in action in her life in the family, in the church and in the community!

"We were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us. For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers. For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers." 1Thessalonians 2:7-13

We'll engage with Titus 2:1-8 - Men who are an example in imitating Christ!
Jesus does not want us to wear a mask of strength and perfection that we do not have, but He wants His strength, His grace and His love to shine in us, Jesus wants others to see Him at work in us, that is why He calls us to be a model for one another in imitating Him and in sharpening one another for His mission:

"Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." 1Corinthians 11:1

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 1:10-16

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 1:10-16 - Do you recognise your mission field, your downfalls, your response in the Gospel?
The false gospel makes promises that it doesn't keep; the true Gospel unmasks them and points us to the holiness and love of Christ, which is greater and better than anything offered by legalistic and libertine sin, the Lord who is worthy of all our lives! So let us exhort and rebuke one another to believe and live the Gospel in Christ, to be sound in doctrine and held firm to the Word of truth!
"Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets; a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory; and in his name the Gentiles will hope." Matthew 12:18-21

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Theology for Breakfast

Tomorrow we'll continue
our series of meetings:
Theology for Breakfast!
Following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll meet from 9 to 11am @ Central Café in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a breakfast with capuccino & croissants, we'll engage with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!

Together we'll interact with the module: Union with Christ, concluding Unit 1: "What Is Union With Christ".

Union with Christ is the centre of the gospel. It’s been called the central doctrine of salvation. This course will teach you how the profound truth of a Christian's union and identity with Christ drives us to mission and joy in him.
All that Christ has achieved for his people is ours through our union with him. Heart change and mission flow out of who Jesus is, and how we are bound to him by faith. This course will teach you to understand and enjoy your relationship with Jesus in everyday life on mission.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 1:5-9

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 1:5-9 - Integral in living the Gospel we hold firm!
Paul shows us how the churches of Crete must mature in growing a plurality of leaders in every church, in every town and in every village. The Gospel character the churches are to look for in their leaders are no more and no less than the fruit of the Spirit's work in every believer, for the growth of every church!
"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." Ephesians 4:11-16

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Saturday 30 March 2024

During the service Stefano will preach from Romans 6:1-11.
As a church family, we are thankful to the Lord for this day of joy and witness, in obedience to the ordinance of the risen Christ to his church:

"And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - Titus 1:1-4

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service continuing
our series on the Pastoral Epistles. We'll engage with Titus 1:1-4 - Like Father, Like Son - Like Promise, Like Word!
Paul shows us the biblical harmony between God's sovereignty and human responsibility, between the gift of faith, which translates into growing in the knowledge of the truth of the gospel, and living the gospel, the true godliness, the true religion, the true mission, which translates into experiencing the certainty of the hope of eternal life in Christ!
"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins.. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- ...For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:1, 4-5, 8-10

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.
