Sunday Service: Visiting Preacher - Gioele Corradini

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room at the theatre Le Torri dell'Acqua, well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio. 

 

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Gioele Corradini from Chiesa Evamgelica di San Lazzaro will preach about Witnesses and Disciples - from Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:19. Together we'll see the beauty of Christ who said: "I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you." John 13:15

Stefano will lead the Lord's Supper from Acts 2:42-47 "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." 

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Reformation Prayer Meeting

Tomorrow evening we'll meet on Zoom for a Reformation Prayer Meeting.

The 31st October 1517 Luther posted the 95 theses in Wittenberg. This date has a strong symbolic value as it's considered, if not the very beginning of the Reformation, at least one of its fundamental steps. The fact is that after the nailing of the 95 theses, Reformation took on a public and popular profile. The Day of the Reformation is therefore an occasion to remember the rediscovery of the Gospel centred on the recognition of the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Jesus Christ, the gratuitousness of salvation, the requirement that all life be lived for the glory of God.

As church family, we'll have a time to specifically intercede for our nation in this moment of crisis due to the COVID19, remembering how the identity of God's people for every generation, in every nation and in every moment of crisis, is inextricably linked to being in Christ and faithful witnesses of his Gospel.

So we'll dedicate a time to pray, to intercede and to thank the Lord, following the 5 Solas of Reformation: Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, Sola Scriptura and Soli Deo Gloria!

SEEKERS Club15-25: seek, and you will find!

Tomorrow afternoon we'll start our Seekers Club for 15/25 years old students, organized by Youth for Christ Italy 

with La Piazza Church,  

Forte Torre Church,  

Nuova Speranza Church 

and San Lazzaro Church.

Once a month we'll meet in a different location of the Bologna area, sharing a meal, ideas, fun time, and above all engaging together with God's Word!

This year we'll engage with the 7 I am sayings of Jesus! We'll be exposed to the person of Jesus, his affirmations, his actions and the implications for our lives, in the certainty that, as Jesus promised: seek, and you will find!

With Stefano we'll engage with Matthew 2:13-23 - Jesus is the fulfilment of God's Word! Together we'll see see the beauty of Christ, God's Suffering Servant -  he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Theology for Breakfast with Crosslands

our series of meetings:  
Theology for Breakfast! 
Following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll meet from 9 to 11am @ Central Café in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a breakfast with capuccino & croissants, we'll engage with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!

We'll interact with the Crosslands module: Gospel Change. With Stefano we'll conclude Unit 8. Holiness - conversations.
The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the likeness of Christ (Romans 8:29). Together we'll learn how to apply the Gospel to our everyday life. We'll find out how change takes place as God’s truth is applied to the heart, and also how to effectively minster the Gospel to those around us.

AppMatthew - Mid-Week Bible Study

 

Tomorrow evening we'll have our AppMatthew (Applying Matthew's Gospel), our series of Mid-Week Bible Studies in which we'll keep interacting with what we're learning through the preaching in our Sunday services. 

 

 

Stefano will lead this time where as church-family we'll engage with what we are learning from Matthew 1.

At 10.30 we'll start our service and Giuliano Santangelo, pastor of Nuova Vita Church in Bologna will preach about "Time" - Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. Together we'll see how God: "has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart."

Stefano will lead the Lord's Supper from Galatians 4:4-5 "when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons."

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Missionary Prayer Meeting

Tomorrow evening we'll have a Missionary Prayer Meeting through the video conferencing app ZOOM.

We'll have with us Giuseppe & Sun-min, who will share the ways in which the Lord is guiding them to serve Him in Germany working with WEC with refugees.

Celebrating with our community - AgriBu2020

From the 3rd to the 12th of October, Budrio celebrates AgriBu, a traditional agricultural festival connected with autumn and harvest.

Tomorrow afternoon, as church family, we'll celebrate this festival with our community, enjoying the many activities prepared for families, like the exhibition of ancient agricultural tools, local artisan products and food, carousels, hops and games for children, remembering that in every season and for every generation, it is the time to seek the Lord!

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10:12
