Outreach with under-age asylum seekers: Basketball outreach

Tomorrow morning we'll start a new outreach programme for migrants at the HUB for under-age asylum seekers in Budrio,
in partnership with YfC Italy.

In a village next to Budrio,
last year was opened the second biggest centre of the Bologna area, to host under-age migrants landed in Italy. At the moment they host about 30 kids, mostly Muslim, from various African and Asian countries.

A door was opened to offer a series of Basketball Clinics with Coach Chris Bilyeu, a former Principal, Teacher and Coach of Basketball, Baseball and American Football from Oklahoma,
now part of the Bologna staff of YfC Italy.
We are very excited for this opportunity for our church to reach out these kids and for the new partnership with the manager of the Mezzolara Sport Centre.
Join us in praying for Chris and us that we'll be able to share
Jesus' Love to these kids, the HUB staff and the Sport Centre staff,
in words and actions!

Thanksgiving Family Meal

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in the US,
so we decided to celebrate an Italian version.

In the evening we'll meet @ Justin & Carli's for a bring&share Thanksgiving meal.

We've invited a few new friends from the October Reformation events, so we should have about 15 non-Christians with us!

Join us in praying that it will be a great Gospel opportunity to celebrate the goodness of our Lord and to share the many reasons we have to be thankful to God this year!

Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written,
"I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

Acts29 Italy training days

From Sunday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon,
Stefano & Jenny with Justin & Carli,
will be @ the Impatto Italia Acts 29 training days conference.

This year we'll engage
with the theme of Gospel Centred Discipleship interacting with the book of Jonathan K. Dodson.

Avoiding extremes and evaluating motives, Jonathan Dodson insists on a way of following Jesus that re–centers discipleship on the gospel. This book helps to understand and experience the fullness of discipleship as God intended. It combines the mess and the weight, the imperfection and transformation, the honesty and wonder of being a disciple who revolves around Jesus. Here is a practical guide to discipleship that is Spirit–filled, Christ–centered, field–tested, and easily implemented.

IDOP 2017 - International Days of Prayers for the Persecuted Church

Tomorrow we'll have a joint service for the IDOP 2017 - International Days of Prayers for the Persecuted Church, alongside the 4 local churches we are partnering with in the Bologna area.
This global event is promoted by the World Evangelical Alliance and Open Doors.

In the morning we'll meet
at Nuova Vita Church where,
Cristiano De Chirico from
Open Doors Italy, will preach
God's Word challenging us to partner in prayers, intercessions and action with our sisters and brothers from the persecuted church worldwide.

In the afternoon, our church will host in Budrio
the prayer meeting where Cristiano will update us
about the present situation of the Persecuted church.

On a daily basis Christians around the world face persecution in various forms, including discrimination, physical assaults, violence and even death. Persecution is the daily reality of at least 100 million Christians around the world. We believe that God uses the prayers of his people to strengthen and deliver suffering saints. However, that’s not all. Even though persecution and suffering may be the present reality for some believers, the Scriptures promise that their  journey, ultimately would be from ashes to glory. As such, we are convinced that though sorrow is the present reality of those suffering for Christ, triumph is their ultimate reward.

Video Report of the #Reformation500 events in Budrio

Jörg MĂĽller is the Director of the European School of Biblical Studies near London.
From Friday the 27th to Sunday the 29th October 2017, Jörg & Heike have been helping at the #Reformation500 events in Budrio.
Jörg's family on the maternal side comes from the same village in Thuringia as Luther’s family: Möhra. Jörg planted and pastored a church in Wartburg where Luther was brought for hiding after the Diet of Worms and translated the NT into German. While hiding there, he called himself Knight Jörg.
