Under the sun of rural Tuscany!

This afternoon Stefano will speak at a meeting of young people from Tuscany. Stranger Teens is a programme for middle and high school teens organised monthly by the Evangelical Church in Sovigliana. Stefano will present the Youth for Christ Italy programme on the theme of Gender, starting with 2 films from 2023: Barbie & Close

Tomorrow morning he'll be with our dear friends from the Evangelical Church in Montespertoli, preaching from 1Timothy 1:1-11 - The aim of our charge is love! It will be a joy to share God's Word with the loved ones of this church that Stefano has known and appreciated since he was a teenager!

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 2Timothy 2:22-26

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Matteo we'll engage with 2 Timothy 2:22-26 - The Lord's Servant flees, pursues and hopes in the Lord!
This is the Lord's Servant: able to teach the church, able to instruct the opponents! This is the work of the Lord's Servant par excellence, this is the work of Jesus, our Servant-King:
"Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice." Isaiah 42:1-3

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Theology for Breakfast

Tomorrow we'll continue
our series of meetings:
Theology for Breakfast!
Following Luther's Table Talks example, we'll meet from 9 to 11am @ Central Café in Mezzolara where, while enjoying a breakfast with capuccino & croissants, we'll engage with God's Word discovering the beauty of theology in our everyday life!

Together we'll interact with the module: Gospel Relationships, concluding Unit 9: "Parenting".

Relationships are fundamental to our identity, yet they are fraught with difficulty, fear, conflict and uncertainty. Coming to Christ puts us automatically into relationship with a community of his people. The gospel enables relationships to fulfil their purpose and design. The gospel transforms all our relationships. It resolves conflict, and gives new purpose to friendships, parenting and marriages. Together we'll discover how we can be freed to serve and love others with gospel intentionality.

The ultimate purpose of our purification and sanctification, is that of lovingly serving Christ, and His church, in His mission: this is the revolution of the Servant-King!
"...You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:42-45

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 2Timothy 2:14-19

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 2 Timothy 2:14-19 - The Lord knows his workers: approved and satisfied!
Just as Paul in prison is certain that the Gospel of Truth is not bound, he is certain that the church will not be destroyed, because the foundation of Christ is solid! Just as Paul is certain that God knows who are his, he is certain that the Gospel is to be proclaimed to all!
"...You are God's building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:9-11
