Reformation Sunday & Children Dedication Service

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service celebrating the Reformation Sunday. With Nino we'll engage with Ephesians 2:1-9 - The 5 Solas of Reformation!
On 31 October 1517, Luther nailed the 95 Theses in Wittenberg. This is considered the moment when the Reformation took on a public and popular profile. Reformation Sunday is then an occasion to recall the rediscovery of the Gospel, centred on the recognition of the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Jesus Christ, the gratuitousness of salvation, and the requirement that all life be lived for the glory of God.

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

We'll also celebrate the Dedication of Jacob, Abigail and Anna.

"Things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments" Psalm 78:3-7

Sunday Service: Pastoral Epistles - 1Timothy 6:17-21

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service to worship God together and to proclaim His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the meeting room at the social center Magnolia, a well known cultural meeting point right at the centre of Budrio.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 1 Timothy 6:17-21- The well-founded treasure and the good deposit!
Paul commands us that we store up a well-founded treasure in eternity, to grasp the true Gospel life, to which we have been called by Jesus' grace, and to guard the good deposit of the Gospel by sharing it with all in the missional generosity of Christ!
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

At 10.30 we'll start our service with our series on the Pastoral Epistles. With Stefano we'll engage with 1 Timothy 6:11-16 - Honoring God by fulfilling his calling!
Paul affirms that the man of God is called to take hold of the eternal life, to which he has already been called; he is called to grasp, what God has already given him; to be, what he already is in Christ; to live the new life of missional sanctification, which the Spirit is already working in him! "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." Jude 24-25

We'll have a children's talk where kids will engage with the same Bible passage.

Discipleship groups

From the 9th to the 21st of October we'll have our discplipleship groups where we'll interact with the module: Gospel Relationships. Developing from the material of Unit 7, we'll engage with the theme of: "enlarged family".

Relationships are fundamental to our identity, yet they are fraught with difficulty, fear, conflict and uncertainty.

Coming to Christ puts us automatically into relationship with a community of his people. The gospel enables relationships to fulfil their purpose and design. The gospel transforms all our relationships. It resolves conflict, and gives new purpose to friendships, parenting and marriages. Together we'll discover how we can be freed to serve and love others with gospel intentionality.

Christian contentment is not the self-sufficiency of the world, but the Christ-sufficiency of the Gospel lived first-hand: "...for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:11-13
