The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP)

Every year as a church family we join IDOP the International Days of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, a global event that unites millions of Christians in prayer for the persecuted Church. These meetings are promoted by the Evangelical Alliance and Open Doors in order to join in prayer with those who suffer persecution because of their faith in Christ Jesus.

More than 300 million Christians around the world live in difficult places, where they face persecution. They face harassment, detention, legal restraint, violence and even death for their faith in Jesus.

The Bible instructs us to pray for those who are persecuted as if we were persecuted ourselves (Hebrews 13: 3) and that if a member of the body suffers, we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26).

This year we want to be among those who do not turn their backs on the many suffering Christians in the world, for this we will intercede specifically for persecutors, men who with power and violence try to oppose the Kingdom of God, but who unwittingly contribute to its unstoppable progress.

Specifically, we will pray for North Korea, for Afghanistan and Pakistan, for Nigeria and Kenya.
