MySpace Club 4 Teens - Transformed: The Thieves On The Cross!

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have our
My Space Club 4 Teens
for this school year.

We organize this club for local kids,
in partnership with Budrio Town Hall
as part of their after-school programme.

In this way, we've been given a room in Budrio's Library and social workers are sending some of the kids they follow.
As part of our club, we also offer help
with their English home-works.

Together we'll engage with the YfC Rock Solid material, interacting with the theme: Transformed: The Thieves On The Cross!

We'll play lots of fun games like: Chick Flick, Hot Cross Bun Raisin Race, Odd One Out, Who Knows Best?, Bop or Flop, Set in Stone, Flip Your Opinion, which will serve as illustrations to Nino's Talk from Luke 23:26-49. In the thief's heart transformation, we have a specific fulfilment of Christ’s prayer on the cross. As soon as Christ had uttered, “Father, forgive them” (Luke 23:34), the Father answered that prayer by turning a once-reviling criminal into a Christ-glorifying saint. Often we hear from irreligious people that they will simply believe before they die, like the dying thief did. This isn’t what happened here! The thief didn’t believe in Jesus as a last-second effort to cover all of his afterlife bases. No, the dying thief believed that this crucified, cursed man was a King, and a Saviour, and a Treasure. This is the beauty of the Gospel. It takes the most hopeless situation, even the warranted crucifixion of a criminal, and offers the very opposite— life. «And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise".» Luke 23:43
